Judging by the name, basalt cotton wool is made from similar rocks, basalt and slag of mining industry. This is a non -combustible fiber heat -insulating material. It perfectly retains heat and completely natural. Any form of basalt wool has excellent vapor permeability, so the steam does not remain in a thin insulation, but comes out. Avilled short fibers of basalt mineral wool provide excellent sound insulation. Such cotton wool practically does not shrink, since water vapors are not afraid of it.
Working with glass wool is much more difficult, because it has high -skinned and fragility. Broken fiber permeates the skin, and can also penetrate the eyes or lungs. When working with such material, it is necessary to put on disposable overalls, protective glasses and respirator. Working gloves are also necessary.
The highest quality mineral wool is produced in Germany, because in this country high requirements are imposed on it. But, in principle, domestic products also have good quality.
