Parquet is more expensive than linoleum, laminate, or other materials, but properly laid and processed, it will become an adornment of any room and will last many years.
To give the proper look to the parquet floor, it is not enough to properly lay it, it is also necessary to perform its cycle.
Parquet cycles should be directly behind laying parquet planks. It levels the surface of the parquet floor, removing the upper thin layer of the coating from the planks. The purpose of the cycle is the elimination of possible scratches or old varnish. Therefore, processing is carried out during the installation of a new parquet and during cosmetic repairs, when a long -lasting coating needs to be updated. Parquet can be cycle several times – this significantly increases its service life.
Parquet processing depends on the wood breed and the thickness. Cycles are made in several stages. The amount can reach five times if the thickness is sufficient.
Work on laying and cycling of parquet can be done both on their own and inviting professionals – which is more practical. Experts process the parquet floor in two stages. At first they use a special machine of one of two types – either drum or tape. Both models have one significant drawback, after which waves often appear on the floor. To remove this defect, use flat -grinding machines that carry out a more thorough, so -called finishing, grinding floor. Recently, new advanced devices have been invented to carry out the process of cycles in one stage.
If for some reason you do not plan to invite specialists, you can conduct a cycle of parquet and on your own. In this case, manual cycles are used to work. The cycle is a sharpened metal plate having a wooden handle. Usually they are about five centimeters wide. In order to facilitate the work during a manual cycle, the floor is moistened with water. Nevertheless, working as a cycle, you will have to make a lot of effort and time, so it is better that this work is done by a person with experience.
