The station was built in the second half of the 70s of the XIX century under the English government of Bombay, and then he found the head of Victoria Victoria Terminus in honor of Queen Victoria Victoria. The image of the structure in most cases is assigned as a neo-Gothic, but with the great action of Indo-Sarazinsky, which ultimately carries out the station very unusual. It looks like the classic castles of India: crowned with domes, decorated with carvings and bars, and yet it is the creation of the English architect, classic for the Victorian era.
In 1996, the station was re -chanting, now it bears the name of the national hero of India Chatropati Shivaji, but the local population by affection is called by Victoria Terminus. The large and elaborately decorated station became the sign of Bombay – a significant shopping complex of India, and in 2004 it was added to the list of global inheritance of the UN. A few hundred meters from the station housed a gate to India, and together they create a common complex, welcoming everyone who comes to this large Indian town.
