Mediterranean style in architecture

Houses built according to the rules of the Mediterranean style, sunny and cozy. This is the place where the dream and the holiday settled, perhaps that is why the Mediterranean style of architecture is so popular today. The one who is inclined to believe that such houses are building only on the sea coast is wrong. Interesting fact: more and more residents of the middle strip of mother of Russia began to be decided on the architectural ideas of the Mediterranean.

Simplicity is the basis of style. It can be traced both in the organization of the house space and in the forms of buildings. Similar hedges, arbors are necessarily located next to such buildings. As a rule, these houses have 1-2 floors. The roof of wooden tiles, in addition to its main functions, performs very unusual for a Russian person: it serves as a place of rest.

The facade of these structures is light, thanks to external decoration. Often, when lining, a stacco decorative plaster is used, which is a mixture of lime, gypsum and marble crumbs.

This style has an important feature: each country has its own variations of execution. Say, in Italy, architects love to use olive and warm terracotta tones, as well as ocher shades. But the Greeks prefer only cold shades: hence the famous Greek walls with yellow, blue, white and light blue accents.
