A new law will come into force in March, which will introduce changes for owners of newly installed solar panels.
Smart meters and control units will now be mandatory for all new photovoltaic systems. In addition, if the exchange prices for electricity are negative, feed-in tariffs will no longer be paid, according to the energy company MVV.
New solar installations will have to be registered from February 2025. As soon as the law is published, its provisions will come into force. However, balcony power plants are generally not covered by it. The period for subsidizing large solar installations will also be extended.
