Wall foundation blocks have long been successfully used in low -rise and high -rise construction for the installation of foundations and walls of basement and underground floors.
In order for the bearing capacity of the foundation to be higher, before the installation of the blocks, the reinforced concrete pillows of the FL are laid, which expand the sole of the foundation, thereby increasing the area of the support. In some cases, they use a monolithic plate made of commodity concrete, cast at the base of the future box from blocks.
Types: UDB, FBP, FBS
Modern builders use three types of wall foundation blocks – these are unified hole blocks (UDB), foundation blocks of hollow (FBP) and foundation blocks (FBS). We will talk about the latter in more detail about the latter, since they belong to the most popular reinforced concrete blocks used in the construction of foundations.
FBS blocks are used to build objects with special technical requirements, so heavy concrete with a specific mass of 1800-2500 kg/cube is used for their manufacture. m and gravel as a large filler, silicate concrete or expanded clay concrete. The standard height of such a block is 300 and 600 mm, width – 300, 400, 500, 600 mm, length – 600, 800, 9000, 1200 and 2400 mm. The blocks are equipped with technological grooves where the solution is laid during the construction of the foundation, which ensures the construction of additional strength. Block labeling means its type, dimensions (in meters) and the material from which it is made.
The type of foundation and shape of the blocks is chosen depending on the engineering-geological and hydrogeological conditions of the construction site, the features of the structure and the load provided on the foundation.
When laying foundation blocks, vertical seams should not match, and the distance between them should be at least 0.4 from the height of the block. If the foundation is intermittent, then the seam is placed within the plates.
